Empowered 2 Teach

Empowered 2 Teach was developed in response to the challenges faced by the Orang Asli community with regards to education. The project works towards empowering the Orang Asli community to have a greater access to education. The project provides training, support and resources for the Orang Asli communities living in remote areas to start their own pre-school education classes within their villages.

We do this by training and equipping Orang Asli teachers who are recommended by their village leaders based on their strong desire to educate children. Using the project as a platform to start up their classroom, the teachers will teach up to 20 young children on a regular basis.

The project plays an empowering role in providing the tools needed for these teachers to serve as a catalyst for education and development in their respective villages. The project hopes to prepare Orang Asli children for formal primary education by teaching them how to speak, read, write and count. The project also hopes to assist these children in their physical, emotional, social and intellectual development.

Funders receive measured and audited social impact reporting, and will be able to track SPO progress from time to time.
